SENSOR TECHNOLOGY SYSTEMS RECEIVES $15.3 MILLION ORDER FROM ITALIAN MINISTRY OF DEFENSE

Italian Special Forces to Use Highly Advanced Night Vision Goggles from STS in Counter-Terrorism and Paramilitary Operations

Cincinnati, Ohio – February 22, 2005 – Sensor Technology Systems, Inc. (STS), a subsidiary of The O’Gara Group, today announced that it has received an order worth $15.3 million from the Italian Ministry of Defense for 900 advanced AN/PVS-21 Low Profile Night Vision Goggles (LPNVG). This contract is a follow on to an $8.9 million order that was received in 2004 for approximately 500 LPNVGs. The LPNVGs will be used by the Italian Special Forces in support of the United States-led Operation Iraqi Freedom, as well as activities in Afghanistan and other counter-terrorism and paramilitary operations.

“We anticipate additional orders in the near future from other European and NATO countries resulting from our aggressive international marketing efforts. Our work with the Italian Special Forces, especially given that Italy is playing a leading role in establishing the European Union’s Special Forces organizations, will further solidify STS’s LPNVG as the world’s leading low profile night vision goggles for Special Forces operators around the world,” said Michael (Chip) Lennon, Chief Operating Officer of The O’Gara Group and President of STS. “In addition to providing unique advantages to those aggressive Special Forces operators, STS’s patented LPNVG allows for a high level of interoperability with US Special Forces who are already extensively using STS’s LPNVGs.”

The AN/PVS-21 Low Profile Night Vision Goggle has a rugged, low-profile binocular (or monocular) design that provides unmatched sensor fusion capabilities in diverse and aggressive operational environments. STS’s LPNVG is the only production NVG with an integrated Heads-Up Display capability which allows video signals, such as GPS data or the output of a thermal scope, to be presented directly into the operator’s night vision scene.

“The demand for STS’s unique night vision goggles is a clear indication that sophisticated militaries are increasingly integrating real-time sensor information into all aspects of a conflict – especially for the Special Forces Operator performing very aggressive missions under the cover of darkness.” Mr. Lennon said.

The order from the Italian Special Forces will be delivered now through 2006.
